The singer has become a deejay

Most of the Soulwax remixes have had an official release, except two (that I know of).

There’s their amazing remix of ‘Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)’ by Arcade Fire that was never put out by the band from Canada or their label. Fortunately it was uploaded on the official Soulwax YouTube channel over 13 years ago, and has been viewed over one million times.

The other one is by an artist who’s been dominating the music press last week with the release of her new album ‘Lux’. Dave and Steph remixed Rosalía’s track ‘Bizcochito’ back in 2022. They played it in their 2manydjs DJ sets and live sets, but it never got an official release.

They took the original track, which is less than two minutes long, and turned it into a dancefloor killer. It contains drum sounds from a marching band and a very distinctive ‘hoover’ sound, known for New Beat classics as ‘Dominator’ by Human Resource.

We simply don’t know why Rosalía or her team didn’t put it out, and unfortunately, Soulwax haven’t released it on their own.

Luckily they did include a large part of the remix in their ‘2mandys – as produced by Soulwax 2020-2022′ mix, which is available on Apple Music.
