In this series I look back at all the releases on DEEWEE, this week: DEEWEE 018 – Future Sound Of Antwerp.
For a moment I thought FSOA was the only artist that only had one release on the DEEWEE label. But that’s not the case: Laila (DEEWEE 012) had also released one 12″ on the label.
So who was The Future Sound Of Antwerp?
Actually it was the duo who were already on the bill of some of the Soulwaxmas party when they were still teenagers, who had an (unreleased) Soulwax remix but changed their name from ‘Ego Troopers’ for this release.
So yes, Future Sound Of Antwerp was Olli Geerts (of ASA Moto) and Mozes Mosuse (aka Movulango) who were known as Ego Troopers. At the time of release, both were still living in Antwerp, hence the name.

From the press release:
Future Sound Of Antwerp are the post-digital children of the city’s techno scene, all forgotten mixtapes, and nighttime drives to Ghent. These three tracks, all different, were all produced and mixed at DEEWEE, at night… with a purpose.
Looking at their Instagram posts, they talk about releasing an EP in the future. But for some reason, it didn’t happen.
