There are still interesting interviews with Dave and Steph being released. I will highlight a few for you:
Things we’ve learned from this interview:
- the footage of a woman stripping down during a Nite Versions live set, which is included in the Part Of The Weekend Never Dies documentary, was the wife of the owner Studio B in Brooklyn. It happened in 2006, Klaxons were on the bill and Stephen remembers seeing Michael Stipe in the audience.
This is an interesting article because they focus on how Dave and Steph have made some of their remixes, and which was the main synth or machine they used for those specific remixes.
- Earlier this year, MusicTech published How we remixed The Cure. The feature included insight from five artists who contributed to Mixes Of A Lost World, a remix compilation from the legendary rock band’s newest album, Songs Of A Lost World.
Well, had things played out a bit differently, only one artist would have contributed to Mixes Of A Lost World: Soulwax.
“Robert [Smith] sent us a really nice note saying he wanted us to do the whole record. And the truth was that we could only make it worse,” says David Dewaele, who comprises half of Soulwax alongside his brother, Stephen. - Dave admits Mike Jagger loved their remix of ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’
Natasha Pirard has released a new track of her upcoming album, Fernande, Cecile (DEEWEE 087). The song is called ‘L’ éclat’ (DEEWEE 090):
