Every Thursday I look back to the past.
I have nothing but fond memories of all the years David and Stephen took their friends on the road for their annual christmas party called ‘Soulwaxmas’.
In 2014 there wasn’t Soulwaxmas, but instead they hosted 2 nights at Razzmatazz in Barcelona. On Friday December 19 and Saturday December 20, 2manydjs and friends took over the legendary club under the name #lode2manydjs.
This was the timetable.

I only attended on Saturday, and memories have faded over time. But I remember standing in the booth, taking pictures during 2manydjs b2b set, and watching the mysterious ‘Mezcal Circle Club’. That was an alias for a musical impro, with Dave on guitar. But I have no recollection of the rest of that band, though I am sure I have footage somewhere in my archive.
The 2manydjs ‘Under The Covers’ set was filmed and uploaded to youtube by a fan:
While I did take pictures with their ‘professional camera’ (the Canon 5D), we also took a lot of polaroid pictures on both nights. I took some on Saturday, and I was quite nervous to enter the dressing room of the man, the legend, Jarvis Cocker and ask his permission to take a picture.
I see on the timetable that he was booked as ‘Jarvis Cocker and Desperate DJ’ but I think it was actually him and Jason Buckle as ‘Relaxed Muscle’ – one of his projects at the time.

He politely asked me to come back after his was done putting on the make up, and I got the picture. They played the smallest room in the venue for maybe fifty people, and I guess most of them didn’t have a clue the Pulp singer was on stage. Did he do a George Michael cover? I think he did, if memory serves well.
I do remember everyone enjoying the jámon backstage, and having fun with Tiga when someone put on ‘Lessons In Love’ by Level 42 in the dressing room.
I have kept all the polaroids in my archive, here’s a selection that was published on the 2manydjs facebook page:
